Health and Welfare Plans

Independent Underwriting. Homewood Benefits understands how the insurance carriers derive their quotes and make their decisions. As an independent underwriter, we will be your advocate to ensure that your firm is treated fairly and that any quotes or rulings made by the carriers are derived from accurate information.


Environmental Assessment. Homewood Benefits will compare benefits offered by your company to those offered by competitive employers, both geographically and on a job description basis. We will help you understand how your benefits stack up to other employers.

Employee Questionnaire. Homewood Benefits will survey your employees so you can better understand the concerns and desires of your work force. These surveys will be used as a resource to develop appropriate plan designs for your company's benefit programs.

Administrative and Billing Issues. Our staff has extensive experience working with insurance providers and third party administrative firms. We will work as a liaison with them and your Human Resources and Payroll departments to work out on-going issues.

Payroll Management. Homewood Benefits will assist your Payroll and Human Resources departments with regard to automated enrollment, system interfaces, website access, and technical training.

IRS and DOL Compliance. Employers are faced with compliance responsibilities through both the Department of Labor and the Internal Revenue Service. Homewood Benefits will help streamline procedures to minimize the exposure of the employer. We can also assist in the following compliance functions:

  • Government Reporting On an annual basis, Homewood Benefits will compile
    Schedule A information, prepare appropriate documents, and provide signature-ready Forms 5500.
  • COBRA Administration Homewood Benefits will perform aspects of COBRA administration that are dictated by the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Summary Plan Description Homewood Benefits will review and make recommendations regarding language to help ensure compliance.

Retirement Plans

Retirement Plan Consulting. We can help design a plan for your business by offering practical insight for what works for companies of your size and your industry. As pension rules change, we will advise you of how they affect your plan.

Fiduciary Support. Homewood Benefits provides assistance for employers to satisfy their ERISA mandated responsibilities. We will help to design a plan that minimizes your exposure to these issues.

Day-to-Day Support. Homewood Benefits will work closely with you and your Human Resources department to ensure that your plan runs smoothly. If issues arise, we will act as liaison to work with the appropriate parties to solve the problems.

Timely Employee Meetings. Homewood Benefits will conduct periodic meetings for your employees. Working with you, we will determine the frequency and content of the meetings.

One-on-One Help For Employees. We specialize in working one-on-one with employees. Our goal is to have your employees understand and appreciate your company's retirement plan.
